Kris Janati, principal

On behalf of the dedicated staff here, welcome to Felida Elementary, home of the Falcons!

Let us tell you a little bit about the qualities that make Felida so special. You might know that Felida Elementary School has a longstanding tradition of preparing our students for college, careers and life. Our students are engaged in instruction and activities designed to promote high levels of learning.

Felida is proud to offer full-day kindergarten classes to meet the developmental needs of our students. While our kindergarten teachers provide intentional instruction to promote our youngest students’ academic and social skills, the team also hosts parent education nights to establish early partnerships with our parents and build their understanding of our programs.

Students in all grades at Felida are challenged in rigorous and engaging learning environments. Teachers have established safe and productive learning environments, where students are expected to think deeply and independently. Technology is used not only to support instruction, but also to measure student understanding. Our teachers work collaboratively, through Professional Learning Communities, in the planning, delivery and review of instruction and enrichment for our students. This collaborative process includes instruction in the arts.

Our students also benefit from opportunities outside of the classroom walls. Our third- through fifth-graders are encouraged to participate in Battle of the Books. From after-school sports to choir and student leadership, students in upper grades can demonstrate their leadership through organized activities at school.

Furthermore, our students and teachers benefit from strong support and involvement from our parent community. Our PTA is dedicated to the development and enrichment of our students, teachers and classrooms. The PTA hosts annual family events like Bingo Night, STEM Night and Harvest Festival. We appreciate and are grateful for this rich and longstanding tradition of parent partnerships.
